SENTIER DU FACTEUR

Immerse yourself in one of France's most magnificent landscapes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Le Sentier du Facteur is not just a hike, it's a historic journey in the footsteps of the former letter carrier who, every day until the 1970s, descended into the abyss to link the plateau to the hamlet of Navacelles. As well as delivering mail and news, he managed the trail, trimming box trees and replacing stones. This trail illustrates the network of rural paths that illustrate the importance of agriculture and give shape and structure to the vastness of the Causses.
Once you've reached the hamlet of Navacelles, you'll have to climb back up. During the summer months, you can either take the route in the opposite direction, or take the free shuttle bus back to the starting point.
