This walk invites you to explore the history of Grézac plateau. The hill-fort, built on Grézac “puech” or small hill, is a reminder of man’s almost continuous occupation of the site until the early middle-ages. The side paths (small streets), curtain walls and terraces, and huts, or rather tool sheds, testify to a major human presence from the 16th to the 19th centuries. The geology, the archaeology and study of the flora contribute to a better understanding of the region's history, as well as the development of its crop cultivation. Lodève was an influential old episcopal town, located at the confluence of the Lergue and the Soulondres.
