A two-day hike to discover an emblematic section of the Voie d'Arles, between Lodève and Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
From Lodève, an ancient cloth-making town with a rich past, nestling at the gateway to the Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc, the trail climbs through meadows and woodland to reach the picturesque villages of Soumont and Usclas-du-Bosc. A blend of heritage and nature, this is the ideal way to combine cultural discovery and hiking in the fresh air.
After a night's accommodation in Saint-Jean-de-la-Blaquière, the route continues through vineyards and hills before reaching the craggy relief of Rocher des Vierges. A spectacular descent then leads to the Hérault gorges, gradually revealing the medieval village of Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, a UNESCO-listed jewel and haven of peace nestled in the mountains.
