Summary

The municipality of Poujols is bordered by the meeting of three streams: the Laurounet, the Ricardenc, and the Lergue. With a relief extending towards the plateau of l'Escandorgue and the southern Larzac causse, the Poujol territory is largely composed of natural and agricultural areas. Its architectural landscape is dotted with constructions of old vineyard and olive tree sheds with varying heights made of dry stones. Architecture is indeed one of Poujols' characteristics with entrances made of molded stone, resembling the doors of bourgeois residences. These ornaments can partly be explained by the art craftsmanship of a local stonemason, Mr. Raynal.
