Summary

Union of two communes "Alaumet and Vilacun" in Occitan, they were merged in 1832. This village is where the leading artist of Lodévois and Larzac, Paul Dardé, was born. A student of the Beaux-Arts in Montpellier, he won the Grand Prix national des arts in 1920. In Olmet-et-Villecun, there is a site with multiple riches, the Montplaisir estate. This former farmhouse expanded into the industry in the 19th century for operations related to the textile activity. Today open for visits, the Montplaisir estate is a concentrate of nature at the gates of Lodève, between French-style gardens and romantic corners…
