Summary

Located on the right bank of the Lergue, not far from the Salagou lake, the municipality of Puech is a transitional territory between the Languedoc plain and the first foothills of Larzac. As evidenced by a dolmen erected on the territory, this village has been traversed by humans for at least 5,000 years. The name of the municipality comes from the Occitan "puech" meaning "small mountain". The various hamlets and places of the municipality are marked by buildings made of local red stones from the ruffles and black basalt stones.
