Lodève is home to the only branch of the National Carpet Manufactory, the "ABSavonnerie." In this artisanal workshop, a weaving tradition dating back four centuries is kept alive to create exceptional carpets.
Presentation
Since 1966, Lodève has been home to the sole branch of the National Tapestry Manufactory of the “Savonnerie.” In this artisanal workshop, exceptional tapestries are woven for the most prestigious institutions of the Republic. The weavers carry on a weaving tradition dating back more than four centuries, creating both classic and contemporary designs. Come discover a place where time is measured by the drop of the loom and where the work of the hand is masterful!
Please note: be sure to purchase your tickets in advance, as seating is limited and there is no on-site ticket office.
