Roc Castel Festival at Caylar
Late July (dates to come) at Caylar: the Roc Castel festival offers you meetings and shows in the heart of Larzac
Festival Roc Castel
Upcoming programming and dates
The festival takes its name from the hill of dolomitic rocks that overlooks the village of Caylar. Roc Castel has often played the role of a landmark guiding travelers through the Larzac. This plateau has, since ancient times, been a route between the Mediterranean and the Massif Central, but also a bridge between the rugged reliefs of the Haut-Languedoc Mountains and those of the Cévennes. Along these two axes, Caylar serves as a stop and a resting place for long-distance travelers.
Walkers, cyclists, and horse riders crossing the Larzac have inspired the theme of “slow travel.” This festival pays tribute to those who choose to travel without haste, prioritizing meeting and discovering. Come meet unique travelers, for whom the journey matters as much as the arrival.
