Summary
Located on the basalt plateau of Escandorgue between 450 and 850 meters in altitude, lies Roqueredonde. This territory is bordered by the Orb and its tributaries, in a wooded landscape some of which is included in the Haut-Languedoc Regional Natural Park. A small rural village primarily centered on agricultural breeding, the municipality has a varied heritage: different churches, La Borie Noble (community of non-violent people), or yet an atypical building: the Lerab Ling temple, a place of worship and Tibetan retreat. With architecture inspired by Tibetan monasteries of the Himalayas and a seven-meter-high Buddha statue, this place for discovery, study, and Buddhist practice has been blessed by the Dalai Lama on two occasions.
