At the edge of Aveyron, Les Rives reveals a unique karst landscape, shaped by agropastoralism and marked by its fortified history.

Summary

Adjacent to Aveyron, in the southern part of the Larzac plateau, lies The Rives. This territory features a dolomitic chaos. This karst relief hides a significant number of underground cavities. Another natural feature within the municipality is a temporary lake, "Las Aygas", that appears irregularly between The Rives and the Combefere farm. The Lergue, which sources nearby, flows through the hamlet of Sièges to the south. It is a nature predominantly shaped by agropastoralism that dominates the landscape. Its old porch bears witness to the village's fortification during the Wars of Religion.
