Summary
Bordered by hills and mountains, Le Cros is, through the gorges of the Virenque, at the junction of the three departments of Hérault, Gard, and Aveyron. This village is home to several megaliths as well as a cave that served both as a cistern cave and a sepulchral cave. Under the protection and jurisdiction of the diocese of Lodève in the Middle Ages, Le Cros has seen many bishops pass through its territory, notably due to the presence of the summer residence of the bishop, the castle of Cros.
