RENCONTRE AVEC DOUCE DIBONDO

Meeting / Interview / Discussion with Douce Dibondo on her debut novel, published by Éditions Rivages for this fall’s literary season

When Revenge Takes Hold: An Explosive Debut Novel.
After the death of her twin sister, a young woman refuses to accept silence and impunity. The man accused belonged to the same circle as she did: that of activists for feminist, queer, and decolonial causes. Nothing suggested he was a perpetrator. So, with her friends, she decides to take action. They track him down. They confront him. They strike back. But this act doesn’t stop there. From revenge springs a movement—artistic, political, collective—that transcends its own origins and invents other forms of justice, other ways of inhabiting the world. In vivid language, infused with oral tradition and bursts of poetry, *Le Mouvement* tells the story of a generation that no longer believes in existing frameworks and seeks, through risk and creation, a path to transform reality.

Douce Dibondo is a journalist and Afroqueer-feminist activist. She co-created the podcast *Extimité* with Anthony Vincent. She has published two collections of poetry with Blast, *métacures*, and *Infra/Seum*, from which she performs readings. She is also the author of the highly acclaimed essay *La charge raciale* (Petite Bibliothèque Payot, 2025).
