Put on your miller's and miller's wife's aprons to bring this forgotten heritage back to life
You’ll be able to try on millers’ and millers’ wives’ smocks in all sizes. We’ll take Rue St. Guilhem and then Chemin de St. Martin, which was reopened this year by the village heritage group. At the mill, a small exhibit and guided talks will tell you about the windmill and the mills on the plateau.
Using a small board shaped like an “E,” you’ll carry flour from the mill to the oven as we all make our way back down to the village together.
A festive, flour-covered farandole will follow!
This short journey will have brought three forgotten aspects of our heritage back to life: a path adjacent to the village, a mill and its history, and a ritual centered on the miller’s craft.
The creation of the smocks, the reopening and clearing of the Saint Martin Path, and the collection of information and quotes about the mill were carried out by the heritage group of the town’s municipal library and the association Les Boulégares.
A short hike totaling 1.5 km.
