ATELIER MAXIME DE SIMONE

Maxime de Simone is self-taught. He has been fashioning metal since 1976. He works alone in his workshop in the south of France, in the magnificent natural setting of the foothills of the Larzac plateau. The jewellery he creates is made individually from bronze and silver wire and sheet. Bronze, an alloy of copper and tin, has been used to make jewellery since ancient times.
The metal is cut, hammered and fashioned at its melting point. It is then set with gemstones, such as turquoise, lapis lazuli, cornelian agate or malachite.
