Fishing
The destination offers many fishing spots conducive to relaxation, which will delight both beginners and enthusiasts.
An ideal place for fishing enthusiasts
The Lodévois and Larzac is particularly valued by fishermen, especially for :
- Record-sized fish at Lake Salagou, such as carp and pike.
- The Fario trout, a protected and endemic species of the Vis river that crosses the Navacelles cirque. It is a true haven for fly fishing enthusiasts, with a "no-kill" stretch, where all captured fish must be returned to the water to preserve the natural balance of the site.
Fishing at Lake Salagou
Fishing at Lake Salagou is regulated :
- A "2nd category fishery" fishing license is mandatory, also for crayfish.
- For the periods of fishing authorizations for carp, crayfish, pike... Consult the Lake Salagou fishing brochure.
Fishing in the Vis river at Navacelles cirque
It is one of the most renowned first category rivers in the department. It is labeled as a river in good condition, as evidenced by its crystalline waters. The Vis is known by many fishermen for harboring Fario trout, which are difficult to catch.
Some sections of the lower part of the river are private. A no-kill stretch is proposed near the hamlet and the sheep bridge.
