This summer, let's put into practice 5 challenges to preserve our territory and its unique but fragile biodiversity.
You will find some eco-tips (from a friend ;) ... Whether you are a resident or a visitor, these simple challenges are within our reach to be exemplary actors!
N°1
- Because the situation has been critical in recent years, every drop counts: in rentals, camping, hotels...
In the shower, turn off the water while lathering and prefer showers over baths, keep bath towels for a few days, fill washing machines to the maximum...
- we postpone washing the car, camper, terraces,
- we do not fill the pool excessively
- we water with vegetable washing water or collected rainwater
N°2
- Shuttles in the major sites are possible!
At the Cirque de Navacelles or at the Lac du Salagou, and to ease the roads, limit traffic and saturation, parking at the core sites with shuttle services are available for you!
- LIO bus lines take you from different train stations and airports (Béziers or Montpellier to Lodève)
- Finally, consider carpooling with the local solution Picholines
N°3
- The fire risk is becoming increasingly critical every summer. So NO to cigarette butts in the landscapes and on the beaches of the lake and rivers: think of the pocket ashtray available for free at the Tourist Office or among tourism professionals.
- Bring your waste in, bring your waste out. You will find few "gray" bins in natural areas. So just like all year round, at home: we sort! Many sorting bins are available in villages and even at sites. Use them!
- Think of your water bottle to limit plastic bottle waste.

- Do not leave any waste in beautiful nature
- Respect the fauna, flora, and crops around you
- Stay on marked paths and authorized areas
- Park in designated parking areas

- No more plastic keychains! Visit local artisans for 100% Lodévois and Larzac souvenirs and at the Tourist Office to discover the "territory showcase" shop!
- For food lovers, take the good flavors of your vacation home by thinking of "short circuits" by going directly to markets or in producer shops for your gourmet purchases: olives, tapenades, wines, cheeses, fruits and vegetables, artisan ice creams...

Overcrowded parking: what if we simply changed our plans?
-> Did you know? There are several circuses in Lodévois and Larzac.
Discover them and enjoy remarkable natural sites such as the Cirque de Labeil (Lauroux) and the Cirque du Bout du Monde (Saint Etienne de Gourgas) with splendid viewpoints!
- Finally, last advice: To avoid crowds, try to schedule your "Great Sites" getaway early in the morning, at "cool" times, or at the last light of the day. And why not a night out under the stars with a headlamp!
