MON FRONT POPULAIRE À LODÈVE ?

Twenty-one May 1937, Lodève: Jean Guêtré, a public writer and freelancer at Le Petit Méridional, accompanied by a friend?s accordionist, returns to the Republican café La Muse-Broc to meet up with his comrades in the struggle.
With them, in the light of their testimonies and the chronicles of the local press, he unfolds the events of 36-37, from the victorious election of the Front Populaire in May 36 to the disappointing pause decreed by Council President Léon Blum in May 37.
With a major question mark: what does the future hold for the reforms of last season, and the enthusiasm that accompanied them?
And a minor question mark: what of this period of tumult and social conquest in Lodève? where, in the words of Paul Messine: "[...] In full voice, let us sing the beauties of Lodève"?
