The experimental site of Cantercel offers you a straw earth course with Olivier Scherrer.
Objectives:
The double word "earth-straw" opens up a large number of traditions, techniques and mixtures: cob, half-timbering, light earth? But what characterizes this non-load-bearing masonry technique is the close association between wood framework, earth-straw mix and earth plaster.
In this course, you will approach these three dimensions through three materials (wood, straw, earth) and three constructive functions (structure, filling, coating), master the technique of filling lightweight earth in a wood frame and know how to make choices regarding the dosages and application techniques.
Public:
This course is intended for project managers, craftsmen and self-builders. Bring a work outfit for the construction site as well as samples of earth from various sources.
